BAe 125 / HS 125 History Check: Registration & NTSB Lookup

Make, model, year and registration status free. Full history report $79.

130 BAe 125 / HS 125 business jets are currently on the FAA registry. These are the earlier generation of the same airframe lineage that Raytheon rebranded "Hawker" after acquiring the Corporate Jets business in 1993 -- registered under older manufacturer names and model strings: British Aerospace, Hawker Siddeley, Corporate Jets Limited, and a handful carried forward under Raytheon and Hawker Beechcraft Corp before the registry caught up to the new name.

Same airframe family, older paperwork

The BAe 125 traces back through the Hawker Siddeley HS.125 to the original de Havilland DH.125. If your tail number comes back as a "BAE 125," "HS 125," "HS.125," or "HS-125" model, it's this earlier generation -- not the later Hawker 750/800/850/900/1000 family, which carries the same lineage under its post-rebrand name and is a separate, larger population on today's registry. It's also unrelated to the smaller Beechjet 400 / Hawker 400A, which despite also carrying a "Hawker" name is a different airframe entirely. Confirm the exact model string before assuming a history applies to the wrong jet.

Why the ownership chain matters here

These are some of the oldest business jets still flying, which means more owners, more registrations, and more chances for an accident to be filed under a tail number the airframe no longer carries. The FAA can reissue a cancelled N-number to a completely different airframe after five years (14 CFR 47.15/47.17), so a search of only the current tail number can miss an accident filed under a prior registration -- or wrongly attach a different airframe's history to the one you're buying.

What a $79 report adds

Current FAA registration status, prior registrants, recent FAA filings (bills of sale, security agreements/liens), full NTSB accident and incident history, and the serial-number cross-match that catches an accident hiding under a prior tail number.
