Gyroplane Registration & Accident History Check

Make, model, year and registration status free. Full history report $79.

Only 415 gyroplanes are currently registered with the FAA — the smallest of the FAA's aircraft-type categories by count. Small numbers don't mean less scrutiny: every gyroplane on the registry has the same public registration status and NTSB accident history available as any other aircraft type.

What to check

Registration status and expiration, and NTSB accident or incident records matched by N-number and by manufacturer serial number — the serial-number match matters here as much as anywhere, since a gyroplane's tail number can change hands or be reassigned like any other aircraft's.

What the record doesn't cover

Rotor blade and mast condition, engine hours, and pre-rotator system maintenance are logbook items. Because the used gyroplane market is thin, sellers and buyers often know each other or share a local community — that's a reason to be more careful with documentation, not less, since informal deals are exactly where paperwork gaps happen.

Check a tail number now

Look up any U.S. tail number free — make, model, year, and registration status in seconds. The full history report is $79: every owner on record, registration expiry, recent filings, and NTSB accidents matched by serial number as well as tail number — which is how you catch a wreck that was repaired and re-registered under a different N-number.
